Like most quality English ceramics factories, the Woods factory was based in Stoke-on-Trent and have been producing beautiful ceramics going back to the 1700s.
Arthur Wood became sole owner in the early 1900s and concentrated initially on producing beautiful tea pots.
This cheeky hand painted vase was produced in the 1950s, with colours and fun hand and foot print pattern both extremely typical of its era.
In general good condition with no chips or cracks, just the usual signs of crazing and light surface wear commensurate with age.
Marked Arthur Wood 4226, and measuring approximately 24.5cm tall, 11cm wide and 9cm deep.
