Origin: 1970s, Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany.
Rudi Stahl had a small workshop set up in 1938 and made all his pieces by hand, he was a studio potter rather than a mass producer. With his influences coming from Japan and working with the natural tones of local clay and stoneware, his work differs greatly from a lot of the bolder and more experimental pieces coming out around that period. This jug is for both practical and ornamental use. Stamped 'Rudi Stahl 70391-14' 'Handarbeit'.
