A beautiful original Jung Koch Quentell chart of the Tulip. The illustration is printed on paper mounted onto canvas and fixed on split wooden dowels. The chart is in overall good original vintage condition, with a few creases as to be expected from a well used piece.
At the turn of the century biology professor and painter Gottlieb Von Koch created these beautiful illustrations. Together with teacher Heinrich Jung and college director Dr. Friedrich Quentell they created detailed botanical and zoological educational charts which are still popular today.
The charts were published by Fromann and Morian up until 1930 when the publishing company Hagemann bought the rights to the charts and began to publish them.
