Dedicated Followers of Fashion. Original Fashion prints by Rudolph Ackerman.
From 1809 to 1829 the multi talented Rudolph Ackerman produced the Repository of Arts, Literature, Fashions journal on a monthly basis from his shop in the Strand. Each edition had a fashion print enclosed.
The magazine was very successful, being the Vogue of its day with customers eager to get sight of the newest fashions.
Among his many innovations Ackerman was among the first to introduce gas lighting in his shop so that customers were not restricted by daylight to view the latest publications.
The original prints are rare with the majority of prints currently offered elsewhere being modern copies. Each print measures 9.5* 6ins. and the colouring is exquisite.
