Mid-Century painting on canvas, 'Blue Landscape,' Allan Horsak (1937 -2004).
Mauve, ink and sage greens in this semi-abstract piece. Superb brushstrokes in flat planes, a sweep of beetroot in one direction butting up against a dove grey field of diagonal stripes. Sketchy and vigorous as if a conductor had commanded his orchestra to play, 'con brio.'
