BRASS DUGDILLS MACHINISTS LAMP. A stunning machinists lamp by renowned English lighting company Dugdills used by engineers. c.1920.
Rare early example made entirely of brass, featuring daisy knobs for tightening the joints. This versatile lamps could be desk, wall or ceiling mounted. In as found condition with plenty of remains of old green paint which has produced a wonderful patina over the decades. Dugdills embossed stamp to base.
Rewired with 2m of black twist flex and BS 3-pin plug.
The design of this is attributed to John Dugdill, an electrical engineer from Manchester, who filed a patent for a ‘rotating electrical switch’ in 1906.
