1930's exceptional vintage Russian jewellers cabinet. This forty eight drawer cabinet has survived tucked away in the corner of a jewellery workshop in Western Russia.
Made from pitch pine with a two tone painted finish the cabinet has all 48 of its original handles, card holders and escutcheons and its original makers audit mark. It's not often we photograph the back of a piece but the vented rear panel is so unusual we wanted to share it.
Internall the drawers are 10cm deep, 20cm wide and 27cm long. All the drawers run smothly making this a practical and amzing statement piece in a bedroom or living room.
The piece is very shallow in depth so woudl also work well as a statement hall piece. We love the handles and original metal detail on each drawer, all original and all has survived. The main carcass has been sympathetically restored to its original grey painted finish.
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
