Made from light tubular steel. Shaped ply seat and back rest. Unusual curved rear legs. Believed to be an early Rowac Prototype chair. German, Circa 1920s. Robert Wagner/Rowac.

Robert Wagner’s founded his company in 1888 in Chemnitz, better known as Rowac. His products stood for functional excellence, and were designed to provide the highest quality of healthy seating. Robert Wagner’s designs were so much respected by the founder of the Bauhaus movement Walter Grophius, that he had all Bauhaus workshops equipped with Rowac furniture.
