Everest were a small British furniture maker producing stylish pieces back in the 1960s. There's very little information to be found regarding the company unfortunately and minimal pieces currently on the market.
This is possibly because like other small makers, they sold through independent quality shops like Heals of London and Chapmans of Newcastle who didn’t like makers labelling their pieces. This unique sideboard is a very striking model, from the inset black vinyl handles and glass shelves to the unusual drawer configuration and fold out drinks cabinet/shelf.
This truly is a statement example of good quality Mid Century furniture. In good used condition and structurally solid, we've given the sideboard a good clean and oil, although there are still signs of wear inside and out including knocks, scuffs, scrapes, small chipping and some sort of faded red stain to the deepest part of the Formica lined drinks cabinet.
There has also been a split to the fold out drinks trolley lid which has since been fixed and it appears there's been a few other little fills to knocks and bumps along the way. We feel none of these factors detract from the sideboard's overall appeal from what is a fantastic piece of design and functionality.
'Your well-made choice' was Everest's slogan and with the sideboard still going strong 50+ years later, it couldn't be any truer.
