These eye-catching chairs by Ernst Moeckl are a Mid 20th Century design classic. Fun, tactile and still extremely modern, these chairs are sure to wow any visitor into your home.
During the 1950s and 60s designer Ernst Moeckl was one of the best-known in his trade. After opening his own industrial design office in the early 1960s he realised numerous projects for companies all over Germany. Today, Ernst Moeckl is most famous for his so-called Z Chair, also known as the Kangaroo chair or Crouching man. The plastic cantilever chair was one of the first of its kind, and was designed in the late sixties and has certainly been the inspiration for many a designer since.
In general good condition given their age, with some surface markings as to be expected. It appears from the underside that the chairs were once red in colour, but on the surface have been sprayed white. To the underside of some of the arms, there are a couple of thumbprints where the chairs have been handled when wet, but this is not visible unless looking underneath.
Sleek, stackable and absolutely stunning, we can't think of a more desirable set of chairs for any eclectic home.
Each chair measures approximately 58cm wide, 57cm deep and 76cm tall with a seat height of 42cm.
