A rare antique bookplate from an 1860 book published by Groombridge London from 1851 onwards. By renowned English printer Benjamin Fawcett and written by ornithologist Francis Orpen Morris who wrote various books on natural history subjects.
He was chief ornithologist in mid-Victorian England. Alexander Francis Lydon was one of the principle engravers. Prints were printed from woodblock engravings and coloured by hand. This hand coloured woodblock print is of the Spine-Tailed Swallow and is blank on reverse. These prints look great framed. Keep out of direct sunlight. This print is in good condition with some slight mottling as expected with age.
