Rear leg stamped with the number 368 Howard & Sons, London W1. Professionally reupholstered to Howard’s original spec in the highest standard. Factory monogrammed ticking and ‘siege de duvet’ cushion with original fustian lining inside.
Howard and Sons would make identification easier by marking their work. Upholstered furniture would have either a name and/or number stamp on the inside of the back foot, a paper label on the hessian or a name stamp on the castor cup or wheel. The address on the stamp varies depending on the date of the piece.
